I see the crystal raindrops fall And the beauty of it all Is when the sun comes shining through To make those rainbows in my mind When I think of you sometime And I wanna spend some time with you Just the two of us We can make it if we try Just the two of us (Just the two of us) Just the two of us Building castles in the sky Just the two of us You and I We look for love, no time for tears Wasted water's all that is And it don't make no flowers grow Good things might come to those who wait Not for those who wait too late We gotta go for all we know Just the two of us We can make it if we try Just the two of us (Just the two of us) Just the two of us Building them castles in the sky Just the two of us You and I

about

On the evening of February 8th, 2019, The Data Waves traveled North for a secret set in the Urbana basement known as Fractal Farm. This new release, entitled “Live at Fractal Farm”, is a remastered recording of our performance that very night.

Take the trip back to the house show days with us!

The setlist for the night primarily features material from our ‘Lady in Red’ release from December, 2018, but look out for the surprise inclusion at the top of the setlist: the Bill Withers and Grover Washington Jr. classic, “Just the Two of Us”, sung by our bassist, Aditya Kashyap. Also, don’t miss the dynamic guitar solos on “Autumn Breeze” and "Sun Salute" from Sammy Gessesse, a standout performance of the night, as well as some fiery improvisation from everyone on a couple of concert staples of the group later in the setlist.

What makes this recording truly special, however, is the crowd. Listening back to this performance is like a portal back to the house show days, when we could all gather together in sweaty Urbana basements without a worry in the world.

We miss it very much.

Thank you all so much for the continued love and support throughout the pandemic. We sincerely can't do it without you.

Much love, happy listening, and we hope we can see you soon.

about

The Data Waves Illinois

The Data Waves have that slow-jam, stank-face, late-night car ride vibe. Their fusion of funk drums and bass, jazzy chord progressions, and soulful horns creates a symphony of complex, entrancing sound.
